These six light blue blouses were custom-made for Anna Popplewell as the character "Susan Pevensie" in the 2005 Disney/Walden film adaptation of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia classic, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. They appear to be completely custom-made, with a combination of machine and hand-stitching, and each features at least two tags--one a general "Costume Design by Isis Mussenden" tag, and a second with the character name "Susan" and sometimes other designators (such as "A" presumably for "Anna", a date, etc.). Most but not all feature a carefully cut and stitch-reinforced slit in the back just to the actress' left, for use with a harness which held her heavy quiver-rig in place. Some additionally feature a rough hole next to that slit, for use with a stunt harness. There's a hidden snap under the left collar of each to hold the top of the placket closed. The buttons have been removed from all blouses, presumably for reuse with others, though their threads remain--this makes me wonder if, whenever a shirt became soiled, they just replaced it with another instead of bothering to launder them. How many they must have gone through...
Only one blouse is pictured here in whole since they're nearly identical except for staining/fading, though the inner tags of all six are pictured. There is various staining on each--some with light dirt soiling, others with extensive discoloration that may have come from oils on the fur coat during the water scenes. I haven't worked with any of them yet--the pictures above are straight off the hangers (which were duct-taped together in a bundle by production)--but a little light steaming to remove wrinkles and they'll be in displayable condition. Some of the soiling or details of construction may prove screen-matchable--I've already noticed some staining visible onscreen during the fur coat scenes--but that work remains to be done. At some point I plan to get or make a reproduction of Susan's quiver-and-arrows rig (Noble Collection already did a replica of her horn), which will turn one of these into a beautiful display piece.
I didn't really need 6 of these, of course, but they were duct-taped together at the hangers and sold as a group, so better six than none. :) These had passed through legendary prop warehouse Hollywood Parts as part of Walden Media's stock, before being sold off through a retailer which acquired much of their Narnia-related inventory.
