Sucker Punch, Ammo

original movie prop weapon

Sweet Pea's (Abbie Cornish) M4A1 Ammunition Magazine from Zack Snyder's 2011 fantasy action film, Sucker Punch. In the film, a young woman named Babydoll (Emily Browning) is sent to an asylum by her abusive stepfather. There, she plans her escape and enlists the help of her fellow inmates to assist in her journey through mind bending alternate realities. Ammunition clips of this style can be seen carried and discarded by Sweet Pea, who carries a Colt M4A1 rifle as her primary firearm during numerous fantasy sequences. Made from resin, this item was cast from an actual 5.56 magazine and includes imprints of factory markings on the side of the clip. Resin magazines like this one are often worn by actors to give the illusion of carrying additional ammunition, while not adding significant weight to the actor during action sequences. They are also ideal for closeups as they appear more realistic than stunt versions that are typically made from foam rubber. This particular piece has been painted black, with the bullets painted gold and bronze for a realistic finish.
