A maquette of the alien queen, based on the creature from the sci-fi action film Aliens. This particular model was commissioned by Boxtree Publishing for use on the cover of the book “Dissecting Aliens: Terror in Space” by John L Flynn, first published in 1994, and can be seen on the cover of the book’s first edition.
Made of plaster and resin, this stunning maquette features a long swirling tail, large spines on the back and both of its jaws snarling. It is finished in black with grey highlights bringing out the intricate detailing across the beast’s carapace. The model is attached to a varnished black wood base.
Slightly worn and particularly fragile, several of the teeth on the main jaw have come away over time and minor fissures are present on the creature’s skin. However, the model remains in overall very good condition.
