Prometheus, Air Lock Door Console

original set dressing / pieces

A light-up air lock door console used in Prometheus. This style of console can be seen throughout the film, attached to the inner edge of the multiple door frames. This prop display is made of resin painted a light matt grey, featuring a fully illuminated etched display panel made of acrylic. Once lit, this gives a very futuristic 'on board' appearance to this piece with red, white and yellow coloured sections. Lit using a 9V battery. Measures 25.5cm x 15.5cm x 3.5cm (10” x 6” x 1.37”).

Hi Unreelfx, altogether there were used four different styles of displays in the sides of those doors. I just made a complilation picture of all of them. Left side the picture from Propstore(UK), right side pictures from the movie. I added it to my displays pictures but here you can find it in a bigger resolution: http://x60i.img-up.net/allstyles4c7f.jpg Did you saw that in one scene in the beginning there can be seen two of your style displays together? So I think they made 3 or 4 of every style. [by Snappy ]
Hi again, I just saw the BluRay of the movie and found out that they changed the front of those displays troughout the film to different doors on set. Even at the same door it's changing from one scene to the other within seconds (just after the door was opened and was filmed from the other direction). And as I already wrote in my display comments I think I know now why they removed the yellow section. At the end it can be seen in "turned off" mode so it might would look to strange if there was still shining a little bit yellow at the top. Really interesting to figure out the history of a prop. ;) [by Snappy ]
Hi, as you might have seen already I also have one of those displays. Can you also "open" it and look inside (see my pictures) or is the acrylic front fixed to the console? P.S. Let's see if the other two consoles also will be uploaded here. :) [by Snappy ]
