The casting bigger shin plates looks like bamboo in the background, plus each shin plate shows two sphinx like ape creatures that look like they are biting a sea shell. They have monkey or lion type tails as well.
The smaller ankle plates are relatively unadorned. They are made of cast fiberglass and paint, and were obviously artfully hand made. Straps with Velcro hold the shin plates on, the ankle plates have no straps.
