This is a mass-produced, commercial replica of the famous Sonic Screwdriver as used by the eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) in the new series. It was manufactured by The Wand Company, a UK-based company known for taking popular sci-fi devices and turning them into functional real-world items. In the case of this Sonic Screwdriver, it was designed to be a motion-activated TV remote. Made of metal and plastic components, this was created using a 3-D scan of the screen-used original.
