Doctor Who, 10th Doctor's Chameleon Arch Pocket Watch
replica movie prop
The Chameleon Arch Pocket watch first appeared in the 2007 season of Doctor Who in the episodes "Human Nature" and "Family of Blood" as well as the first episode in the three part finale "Utopia" used by Professor Yana, who was actually the renegade Time Lord and long time enemy of the Doctor, the Master, who used a similar device to hide himself at the end of the universe. This is a device used to store the Time Lord mental essence and genetic code in the cases when a Time Lord needs to hide themselves in plain site. The way it works is that it is plugged into a headset of a machine that will replace the memories of the Time Lord and completely rewrite their genetic structure into another species making them undetectable by mind probes and genetic scans. The memories, essence and original Time Lord genetic codes are all stored in an ordinary looking pocket watch that is protected by a low level perception filter, thus keeping the Time Lord in question from even noticing the watch consciously to prevent them from accidentally opening it.
This replica is made by the Celestial Toystore and is remarkably accurate considering that only screen stills and photo-references were used.
The inside of the watch has a beautifully recreated face including silk screened Gallifreyan symbols and roman numerals and the inside of the lid captures the molded detail of the original prop beautifully. The lid features a VERY detailed and crisp etching that perfectly recreates the screen used prop. The back detail also features all the plug in points the original prop had for where the watch would plug into the headset for conversion. It also keeps time very accurately too.
