The Toby mug was a seminal prop for this classic WW2 movie, which bookends the story told in flashbacks in 1949 England by former USAAF officer (and WW1 vet) Harvey Stovall. Each time the 918th BG was tasked for a mission, the Tonby was turned to face the interoiir of the officer's club, it's face normally turned toard the wall otherwise.
The original prop was given to a USAF general but was stolen from the house in the 90s (probably by someone who had no clue what it was) and has never been seen again.
This excellent reproduction by Archbury Classics was a gift for my 50th birthday by a lifelong friend of mine (who bought another for himself immediately afterward).
