The Big Bang Theory, 'Modern Gorn' Magazine - Rehearsal Version/Prototype

This was the first of two 'Modern Gorn' magazines made by the production for the fourth season episode 'The Apology Insufficiency'.  During the Monday dress rehearsal it was discovered that the Gorn character would be seen head-on with the magazine open, displaying to the camera both the front and back covers.  Images are included here showing the front and back of this item.

The prop department had only made a Gorn-ified front cover to the magazine prop.  So, they remade the magazine and used the opportunity to tweak the front a little bit (mostly the font size).

Michael Shawn McCracken, as the Gorn, did use this prop during the rehearsal and it is production-made and was intended for use in the episode.  An image of the character with the actual/final prop is included here for reference.

I attended the taping of this episode and supplied the Gorn Translator prop for the show.  Property Master Scott London gifted me this rehearsal/prototype of the magazine in his back-stage shop during an after-party on set.
