Batteries Not Included, "Flotsam" Robot Puppet
original movie prop
Apartment block tenants seek the aid of alien mechanical life-forms to save their building from demolition. From the 1987 film Batteries Not Included, this is a functional “Flotsam” robot puppet used in the film. When two of the apartment tenants, Faye and Marisa, learn that the momma Fix-It “Carmen” is actually pregnant. They find that after consuming plenty of metal and electrical objects it gives birth to three new baby Fix-Its; Wheems, Flotsam and Jetsam. The "Fix-Its" were created for the film by the visual effects house Industrial Light & Magic and the puppet has both operational light up eyes and his top opens to expose his helicopter type flying apparatus to assist him moving about.
