Coming To America, 'Bank of Zamunda' Five Pound Gold Coin

A 'Bank of Zamunda' coin used in the 1988 Eddie Murphy Hit comedy Coming To America. This small round bright gold coin was made by Continental Coin Corp who were contracted by Paramount specially, and the quality is outstanding. The coin is weighty and would have cost a considerable amount to create, and features Prince Akeem's profile encircled by 'Zamunda' and 'Akeem' on one side, and the fictional Zamunda emblem on the rear with “Five Pounds”. Akeem is seen flipping a coin early in the movie with Simmi, letting fate decide if they should visit LA or New York to find him a wife. Several different shades were created, and more coins are heard rattling inside Akeem's pocket when he selects a coin to flip.
