Falling Skies, Alien Drone
original movie prop
Season 5, Episodes 2 & 3 - Ideally suited for 2nd Mass get-togethers such as crop dusting Black Hornets or sonic blasting Skitters, this Espheni drone is a key device in keeping alien undesirables at bay. While it is an Espheni device, Dingaan (Treva Etienne) has re-engineered it for 2nd Mass's use. Season 5, Episode 2 (33:16 minutes) - When John Pope's (Colin Cunningham's) scouting party is blockaded by voracious hoards of Skitters just outside the 2nd Mass camp, all the gunfire in the world won't stop the Skitters from swarming the Food Bank truck driven by Pope. But the tide turns, when an illuminated space-age drone suddenly rises like a Phoenix above the turmoil. Piloted by Dingaan, the modified double-hulled Espheni drone gently banks toward the besieged 2nd Mass truck. To the shock of everyone but Dingaan (who operates the remote control), the drone unleashes a sonic blast that flattens all Skitters like a chain of inert paper doll cut-outs. Season 5, Episode 3 (00:03 minutes) - This episode opens upon the field of swarming Black Hornets near the 2nd Mass encampment, as Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) and Colonel Weaver (Will Patton) lead a small 2nd Mass unit to the disturbing site. Wheeling the modified Espheni drone on a deftly manufactured cart, Dingaan and the Colonel swaps stories about cooking down fertilizer to make a particularly heinous weapon known as "WP" (white phosphorus). In a full-immersion, visually stunning sequence from the vantage point of the drone, Dingaan deftly glides the Espheni double-hulled airship drone over the valley and crop dusts the swarming Black Hornets with lethal clouds of WP (loaded into an aerosol sprayer beneath the drone). In addition to the Airship Drone and Cart, three Remote Controls are included: First, the elaborately constructed remote control used onscreen by Dingaan is included. Mounted on a piece of plywood, this labyrinth of exposed tubes and wires plus two "on/off" levers typifies Dingaan's meticulous engineering work. Second, the special-effects "Drone Remote" is included. It features an "on/off" switch and two dials labeled "Blue" and "Motor" respectively. Third, the special-effects "Tentacle" remote features an "on/off" switch and "Bright" knob. Altogether, five items are included: the Airship Drone, the transportation cart, the onscreen remote control, and two special-effects controls (with battery packs and wiring). Also includes Turner Broadcast System sticker #105083. Airship Drone with Cart measures approx 50" x 54" x 52".
