The Terminator, .45 Longslide With Laser Sighting

This iconic weapon was used by the Terminator in his hunt to assassinate Sarah Connor. While laser sights on weapons are common now, at the time, the red laser heightened the sense of a futuristic, unstoppable, deadly accurate killing machine.

The original prop was an AMT Hardballer Longslide pistol, with a helium neon laser sight added by tactical lighting expert Ed Reynolds. At the time, a custom power supply capable of powering this laser and small enough to fit in the pistol grip was prohibitively expensive, so a wire was run to an external power supply, with the switch hidden inside the jacket, under the right shoulder.

This replica, from Steve Dymszo of SD Studios, is fashioned from a blowback Airsoft Longslide. Inaccurate slide flats were ground off and replaced with stainless steel. It has the correct real rear sight and correct real scope ring. The metal laser body has a bead-blasted finish and is more screen accurate, from Steve's shop. The stainless steel extended barrel is also from Steve's shop. Functional laser, activated by slightly depressing the trigger before firing - An effect they could only simulate in the movie.
