King Arthur, Excalibur sword
made from scratch movie prop weapon
This is a battle worthy replica of the very unique Excalibur from the Clive owen's King Arthur… made of Brittan steel and forged for Arthurs father. I commissioned Jose Debraga to make me the fittings in wax.. i then cast them in bronze using lost wax.. the guard and pommel is bronze, the handle is layered Kevlar and fiberglass. the blade is spring steel and the runes are acid etched.. i talked to the film historian and he informed me that there were 2 swords made, one with Runes on one, and one had more appropriate Celtic Ogham writing on it.. so i had one on each side... this first one was my own.. i am now having the blades cut at a machine shop, the oghams and bevels all cut.. and on the pommel i will be using a blue lapis stone in the finished product.. I will update these pictures when I finish it..
