Lone Survivor, Danny Dietz (Emile Hirsch) Screen-Matched Tactical Helmet
original movie costume
Tactical Helmet worn by Petty Officer Danny Dietz (Emile Hirsch) in Peter Berg's 2013 film "Lone Survivor." Based on true events for which Dietz, a U.S. Navy SEAL, was awarded the Navy Cross for valorous actions in battle. This helmet can be screen-matched as the one worn by Dietz due to sight specific wear (see picture) and comes from the scene in which he is transported by helicopter to the drop point. Written on a label inside the helmet is "DIETZ."
Made with a hard ABS plastic shell and lined with SXP foam, this Pro-Tec brand skate helmet has been painted in a desert camouflage color and has two strips of iron wheel weights adhered to the back with Velcro. Dietz's Tactical Helmet features minor wear from production use, including some scratches and scuffs in the paint; however it remains in overall very good condition. Acquired from The Prop Store of London and Los Angeles in June 2014, with accompanying certificate of authenticity.
I have donated this item to the Navy Seal Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida. Please look for it on display!
